about

Mirroring the shaman’s initiatory journey of descent into the underworld, Initiatrix is also the story of my personal journey of healing and transformation.

In shamanistic traditions, as with Divine Feminine spirituality, there are many archetypical stories where the initiate makes a journey into the Underworld and meets her or his shadow – typically a repressed fear or deep wound - and having faced and integrated this shadow aspect, she transforms. This journey mirrors the natural cycle of life, a constant process of death and regeneration.

Following a painful period of loss and adversity three years ago, I went through my own deep initiation and this album is what I created whilst on that journey. It was also a big part of what brought me through to the other side.. creativity is such a healing power!
